Radical Faith || Monday, August 29, 2005 7:23 PM

We need radical faith. We need to aggressively press in and expect extraordinary things from God like one woman I heard about who lives in Mombassa, Kenya. Her husband was unfaithful to her, and he was a con man who could easily have gone to prison. A minister was preaching in Mombassa, and this woman drove him back and forth to the meetings. It was very hot, and the minister would sweat while he was preaching. The woman said, "I’ll take your shirt home, wash and iron it, and bring it back clean tomorrow." She did that each day, and he was grateful for her thoughtfulness.

What the minister didn’t know was that she took the sweaty shirt home each night and wrung the sweat out over the bed where her husband slept, saying, "Father, I am believing that the sweat of a godly man will bring deliverance to my husband."

Now that’s radical faith! Within three weeks her husband became so conscious of his sins that he couldn’t stand it. He got saved, and now he is serving as a deacon in the church and prospering! One definition of radical is "a considerable departure from the usual or traditional." What that woman did may seem far out, but God honored her faith. In Matthew 9:29, Jesus said, According to your faith be it unto you. I believe God honors radical faith. When we dare to believe Him for the impossible, that’s when miracles can happen!
